Southern Africa is one of the continent’s most fascinating destinations, and on this two-week trip, you’ll get the best of what this dynamic region has to offer. Going from Cape Town to Johannesburg, you’ll experience the mountains of Lesotho, coastal Zululand, and the hiking terrain of Tugela Gorge, capping it off with wildlife safari drives in Addo and Kruger national parks.

Day 1. Arrive in Cape Town at any time.

Day 2. Travel into the Klein Karoo on the famous Route 62. Opt to enjoy a wine tasting along the way.

Day 3. Before leaving Oudtshoorn, opt to explore the Cango Caves or visit an ostrich farm. Cross over the Outeniqua Mountains into the Garden Route. Stop at the Bloukrans Bridge for those brave enough to try the bungee jump, and arrive in the forest village of Stormsrivier for the night.

Day 4. Enjoy free time in the morning to go hiking, bungee jumping, or whale watching. In the afternoon visit the Tsitsikamma National Park, with beautiful coastal trails to explore. Afternoon Optional Tours: Tree Canopy Tour, kayaking, mountain biking, or Tsitsikamma Woodcutters Tour.

Day 5. Enjoy a wildlife safari drive in our vehicle. Be on the watch for elephants and other wildlife. Optional Activity: Valley of Desolation Visit.

Day 6. Travel into the vast semi-desert of the Great Karoo and overnight in the town of Graaff-Reinet, just outside the Camdeboo National Park. Opt to visit the Valley of Desolation for beautiful views over the surrounding area.

Day 7. Cross the border into the highest independent state in the world.

Day 8. Enjoy free time for hiking or horseback riding along trails through this beautiful mountainous country.

Day 9. Return to South Africa and set up camp in the foothills of the mountain.

Day 10. Set off on an included hike along Tugela Gorge in Royal Natal National Park.

Day 11. Travel to St Lucia on the coast of Zululand.
Meals included: Breakfast

Day 12. Enjoy a free day to explore. Opt to take a wildlife safari drive in Hluluwe – iMfolozi Park or go horseback riding on the beach.

Day 13. Cross another border into Swaziland and stay in traditional beehive huts in Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 14. Continue on to Kruger National Park for an afternoon wildlife safari drive in our vehicle.

Day 15. Enjoy a full-day wildlife safari drive in the Kruger Park (in our vehicle). Experience a traditional dinner and local dancing in the evening.

Day 16. Transfer back to Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city. The tour ends upon arrival.
