Day 1. Arrive in Lisbon at any time. Optional Activities: Alfama District, Belem Tower, Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Jeronimos Monastery, National Coach Museum, Praca da Figueira Market, Rossio Square, Santa Justa Lift, Sao Jorge Castle, Tuk Tuk Tour of Lisbon.

Day 2. Wander through the distinct city quarters and the historical area of BelĂ©m. The afternoon is free for exploration. In the evening enjoy a Fado night and traditional Portuguese dinner in one of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods, Alfama. Optional Activities: Day Tour of Sintra, Alfama District, Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Jeronimos Monastery, National Coach Museum, Praca da Figueira Market, Rossio Square, Santa Justa Lift, Sao Jorge Castle, Tuk Tuk Tour of Lisbon

Day 3. Leave Lisbon behind and head north to the small hill town of Batalha, best known for its ornate gothic monastery built to commemorate Portugal’s victory in the infamous battle of Aljubarrota. Visit the historic Batalha Monastery with free time to wander the grounds. Continue to the medieval capital of Portugal, Coimbra.

Day 4. Explore Coimbra today. Opt for a guided tour of its famous university or enjoy the day exploring the winding streets and the riverfront filled with restaurants and bars. Optional Activities: University of Coimbra Visit, Conimbriga Ruins, Convent of Christ and Templar Castle

Day 5. Free morning in Coimbra. Continue to the historic and vibrant coastal town of Porto in the afternoon, and take an orientation walk upon arrival.

Day 6. Free day to explore Porto. Opt to take a cruise down the Douro Valley, or explore the city which gained UNESCO World Heritage designation in 1996. In the evening enjoy a visit to the port wine cellars and tasting. Optional Activities: Douro Valley Cruise, Ribeira Square, Porto Cathedral, Palacio da Bolsa, Sao Bento Railway Station, Lello Bookstore, Clerigos Church and Tower.
